Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has heaped praise on Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, highlighting the forward’s adaptability and flair on the pitch.

Semenyo extended his strong run of form by scoring the decisive goal in Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hargreaves singled out Semenyo for his versatility, insisting the Black Stars attacker has earned his spot in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

“He deserves the opportunity of playing with the best team, or one of the best teams, with the best players. He’s a fabulous player; he can play on the left, he can play through the middle, on the right, and he played as a split-striker today,” the former England international said.

“I love watching him play. He’s so versatile, he’s athletic, and he’s a good finisher. Where you want to be as a footballer is at the top, and he’s come all the way through the ranks, it’s quite an amazing story,” he added.

Semenyo has now recorded 14 goals and four assists in 27 English Premier League appearances this season. He will look to maintain his momentum when Manchester City take on Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
