Arsenal legend Ian Wright has thrown his support behind a potential move for Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, urging his former club to prioritise signing the Eintracht Frankfurt forward.
Speaking on the Wright’s House Podcast, the iconic striker highlighted Marmoush as a player capable of bolstering Arsenal’s attacking options.
Wright also mentioned Ademola Lookman as a promising target but seemed particularly captivated by Marmoush’s potential.
“You know what? There’s two players I’d probably go for here,” Wright said. “But, like, we obviously have to go for one. And I’d like people to have a look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt. You know him, right? You know him very well. If you’re going, if I’m going now, and you have to get something, if you go hard, go and look at Omar Marmoush, Eintracht Frankfurt, see what he’s doing.”
Marmoush has enjoyed a stellar season with Eintracht Frankfurt, catching the eye of top European clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Leicester City, and Barcelona. The Egyptian forward has impressed with his dynamic performances in both domestic and European competitions, prompting AS Roma to reportedly enter the race for his signature.
At just 24 years old, Marmoush has demonstrated versatility and flair in the attacking third, attributes that align with Arsenal’s dynamic playing style under Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners have been looking to strengthen their squad depth, and Wright believes Marmoush could be the ideal fit to enhance their title ambitions.
As the January transfer window looms, Arsenal fans will undoubtedly be eager to see whether the club heeds Wright’s advice and makes a move for Marmoush.
