Samuel Eto’o Linked with Winter Move Away from Everton, Sampdoria Interested
Samuel Eto’o’s future at Everton is increasingly uncertain, with reports suggesting that the Cameroonian striker could leave the Toffees during the winter transfer window. Six months after joining from Chelsea, Eto’o has struggled for game time and has not performed to the high standards expected of him at Goodison Park.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Serie A club Sampdoria is interested in bringing the experienced striker back to Italy, where he enjoyed success in the past. The Italian side, currently in sixth place in Serie A, has reportedly reached out to Eto’o’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, to explore the possibility of a move.
However, Eto’o’s current contract with Everton, which sees him earning €3 million per year, may complicate any potential transfer. The financial aspect of the move could be a stumbling block, as the striker would need to consider whether he’s willing to leave the Premier League for Italy, especially given his substantial earnings at Everton.
