Everton move for Wan-Bissaka after West Ham drop

Everton are preparing a bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship, with the Toffees ready to offer around £10 million for the 28-year-old right-back.

The Telegram reports that Everton see the DR Congo international as a smart way to strengthen their defence ahead of next season.

Wan-Bissaka is not the only club interested, as several other Premier League sides are also monitoring his situation after West Ham finished 18th. The Hammers now face a major financial challenge, needing to raise more than £150 million through player sales after relegation cost them roughly £100 million in revenue.

The defender joined West Ham from Manchester United in the summer of 2024 for €17.6 million, and he came off the bench to make his first appearance for the club in a 4-2 Premier League win over Crystal Palace on August 24, 2024. Four days later, he earned his first start and helped the team secure a 1-0 EFL Cup victory against AFC Bournemouth.

He made 27 appearances this season with three assists.

His solid tackling and one-on-one defending remain valuable assets, and a move to Goodison Park could give him the chance to stay in the Premier League while helping Everton rebuild their back line.
