Everton: Lukaku Reveals He Could Have Signed for Juventus

Romelu Lukaku Chooses Everton Over Juventus in High-Profile Move

Romelu Lukaku could have been on his way to Serie A with Juventus, but the Belgian striker ultimately opted to remain in the Premier League, sealing a high-profile transfer to Everton during the summer transfer window. The move, which saw Everton part with a substantial €35.35 million, set a new record for the Merseyside club and marked a significant chapter in Lukaku’s career.

Despite ongoing discussions with Juventus, Lukaku chose Everton as the next step in his development. The 22-year-old, of Congolese descent, revealed his decision in an exclusive interview with Sunday People, explaining that while Serie A and the allure of a club like Juventus were tempting, Everton offered the perfect environment for his growth.

“I thought about Serie A and Juventus because it is a big club, but for me, Everton was perfect,” Lukaku stated. “I am here and I am happy, I do not regret the choice I made. Everton was the best solution for a young player who wants to improve. I feel at home here, I adapted immediately to the club.”

Lukaku’s arrival at Goodison Park is not just a milestone for the player, but also for Everton, who secured a promising talent at the peak of his potential. The Belgian international had previously enjoyed successful spells at West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea, but his move to Everton marks the start of a new chapter where he aims to continue his upward trajectory.

With his physical presence, speed, and clinical finishing, Lukaku has already begun to prove his worth for Everton, and fans are hopeful that he will be the spearhead of the club’s attacking force for years to come. As he settles into his new role, Lukaku remains confident that his decision to stay in the Premier League will allow him to refine his game and reach new heights in his career.
