Everton eye French-Cameroonian winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya in Frankfurt transfer approach
Jean-Matteo Bahoya, the French-Cameroonian winger at Frankfurt, has emerged as a potential target for Everton in a possible move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
The 21-year-old is valued at €25m and remains under contract with Frankfurt until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal would require the English club to negotiate a fee rather than wait for his contract to run down. The rumour carries a reported 32% probability.
Bahoya joined Frankfurt from Angers SCO in January 2024 for €8m and has since made 59 Bundesliga appearances, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He has also featured in European competition for the German club, making appearances in both the Europa League and Champions League.
Primarily deployed on the left wing, Bahoya is right-footed and was born in Montfermeil. Before moving to Germany, he progressed through Angers’ youth system and made 19 Ligue 2 appearances for the French club, scoring five goals and registering two assists.
Everton’s interest comes with Bahoya established at Frankfurt but still at an early stage of his senior career. His current market valuation and long-term contract leave the Bundesliga club in a strong negotiating position, while his existing deal keeps his future tied to Frankfurt beyond the current transfer window.
