Everton count on Morocco’s Adam Aznou for new season amid PSV interest

Morocco international Adam Aznou is expected to remain at Everton for the 2026-27 season despite interest from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, following an impressive pre-season with the Premier League club.

According to TeamTalk, Everton have no current plans to send the 20-year-old left-back out on loan, with manager David Moyes understood to view him as a useful option for the squad.

Aznou’s performances during pre-season have changed the club’s previous thinking about his future after he made only one senior appearance during his first campaign at Goodison Park.

Strong pre-season changes Everton’s plans

Everton had previously considered sending Aznou out on loan to give him regular first-team football.

However, his form during the summer has reportedly convinced the club that he can contribute to Moyes’ squad this season.

The report says Everton have not informed Aznou of any plans to loan him out, while the player himself is keen to remain at the club and build on his promising pre-season performances.

The left-back has reportedly impressed with his attacking contribution and defensive work, strengthening his case for more opportunities in the new campaign.

PSV monitoring Morocco international

Despite Everton’s plans, Aznou has attracted interest from PSV Eindhoven.

According to Sport Witness, the Dutch club considers the Moroccan a leading candidate to replace Anass Salah-Eddine, with the report describing PSV’s interest as “very real.”

Everton, however, do not currently view left-back as a position requiring significant recruitment, with Aznou and Vitalii Mykolenko regarded as the club’s two specialist options.

That could further increase the Moroccan’s chances of remaining at Goodison Park.

From Barcelona to Morocco’s national team

Aznou’s development has taken him through some of Europe’s leading football academies.

Born in Barcelona, he came through the famous La Masia youth system before joining Bayern Munich in 2022.

He made his senior debut for the German club in 2024 and later spent time on loan at Real Valladolid.

Everton signed him from Bayern in July 2025 for a reported £8m, with the defender agreeing a contract running until 2029.

Despite being born in Spain, Aznou has chosen to represent Morocco and has already earned three senior international caps.

His continued development at Everton could therefore provide another boost for the Atlas Lions, with the young defender looking to establish himself at club level and strengthen his position within Morocco’s national team.
