Evann Guessand commits to OGC Nice until 2028
OGC Nice has secured the future of one of its key players, Evann Guessand, by extending his contract until 2028. The 23-year-old Ivorian striker, who has been with the club for a decade, is set to continue his journey with the Aiglons for another four years, following a standout season that saw him contribute significantly to the team’s success.
Guessand’s new contract reflects the trust and confidence placed in him by the club’s management. Last season, he made 38 appearances and scored 7 goals, solidifying his role as a crucial player in Franck Haise’s squad.
The announcement of his contract extension was made official by the club on Wednesday, with a statement reading: “OGC Nice is pleased to announce the extension of Evann Guessand. The 23-year-old striker is now linked to his training club until 2028.”
Guessand expressed his commitment and determination to contribute even more to the team’s success in the coming years.
“I am proud and honored by this extension. I know that expectations are increasing, both around the team and around me.
I will continue to work tirelessly to be even more decisive and help the club perform,” he said. “I deeply love OGC Nice, where I arrived when I was 12 years old. My ambition and my wish is that we go as high as possible together.”
Since joining OGC Nice as a young talent, Guessand has grown into a reliable forward, amassing valuable experience through his time at the club and his loan spells.
He has played 68 professional matches for Nice, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists.
His development was further enhanced by his loan to FC Nantes during the 2022-23 season, where he made 44 appearances, netting 5 goals and delivering 2 assists.
Prior to that, he also spent time on loan at Lausanne in the 2020-21 season, where he played 35 matches, scoring 7 goals and registering 5 assists.
As OGC Nice continues to build for the future, securing Guessand’s services until 2028 is seen as a significant step in maintaining the club’s competitiveness in Ligue 1.
The young striker’s extension is not only a reward for his past performances but also a sign of the club’s belief in his potential to play a leading role in their ambitions moving forward.
Guessand’s journey from a promising youth player to a key member of the first team is a testament to his hard work and the support he has received from the club. With this new contract, both player and club are clearly aligned in their goal to reach new heights together in the coming years.
