Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka among Inter Milan’s targets to strengthen defence
Inter Milan have identified Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka as one of their main defensive targets as the Serie A club look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The Nerazzurri are already working on several transfer plans as they aim to remain competitive in Italy and make a strong impact in the Champions League. Strengthening the defence has become a priority, with the club looking to add more quality and depth at the back.
Alongside the expected arrival of Oumar Solet, Inter are also monitoring Ndicka as a possible addition to their central defensive options.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the AS Roma defender is among the players being considered by Inter, with the Milan club viewing him as a potential successor to Stefan de Vrij, who is expected to leave during the summer transfer window.
Ndicka has attracted attention from Inter because of his physical qualities and his ability to fit into the style of football preferred by the Nerazzurri.
The club reportedly believe the former Auxerre and Eintracht Frankfurt defender matches their ambitions and long-term plans.
Roma’s current financial situation could also make a possible deal more realistic. The Italian club are facing pressure linked to Financial Fair Play regulations and could consider selling Ndicka if they receive an acceptable offer.
However, completing the transfer is not expected to be straightforward. Inter face competition from other interested clubs, while Roma could use the growing interest in the player to increase his potential transfer value.
Ndicka’s current market valuation is estimated at around €40 million, making him a significant asset for the Giallorossi.
The Ivorian defender remains under contract with Roma until June 2028 and is reported to earn an annual salary of approximately €5.13 million.
For Inter, the priority is to build a stronger defensive unit capable of competing across multiple competitions.
Ndicka’s experience and profile have placed him on their shortlist, but negotiations could prove challenging if the Italian champions decide to make a formal move.
