AFRICAN STARS SHINE ACROSS EUROPE’S TOP LEAGUES THIS WEEKEND

African players once again made headlines across Europe’s top five leagues with decisive goals, assists, and standout performances:

🇩🇪 GERMANY (Bundesliga – Matchday 3)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon) continued his fine form, scoring his third goal of the season in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Hertha Berlin.
Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast) scored Hertha’s only goal, but it wasn’t enough to stop Dortmund’s unbeaten run.

🏴 ENGLAND (Premier League – Matchday 4)

Andre Ayew (Ghana) was instrumental in Swansea’s 2-1 upset over Manchester United. He scored his third goal in four games and delivered a perfect assist to Bafétimbi Gomis (France), who now has four goals.

Sadio Mané (Senegal) shined again for Southampton, not scoring but providing two assists in their 3-0 win over Norwich.

Bakary Sako (Mali) struck again, scoring in Crystal Palace’s stunning 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge—his second goal in two games.

Diafra Sakho (Senegal) was also on target for West Ham in their 3-0 win away at Liverpool.

🇫🇷 FRANCE (Ligue 1 – Matchday 4)

Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia) scored for Bordeaux in a 2-0 win over Nantes, though he also missed a penalty.

Sofiane Boufal (Morocco) netted the winning goal for Lille in their first victory of the season, 1-0 over Gazélec Ajaccio.

Grejohn Kyei (Ghana) scored in Reims’ 4-1 triumph over Lorient.
Denis Bouanga (Gabon) grabbed Lorient’s consolation goal—his first in Ligue 1.

Giovanni Sio (Ivory Coast) sealed Rennes’ 3-1 win over Toulouse, a game also marked by an own goal from Burkina Faso’s Steeve Yago.
