Ghana forward Iñaki Williams and his younger brother Nico Williams delivered standout performances on Thursday night as Athletic Club cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League.

The brothers were named in the starting lineup for the crucial Round 5 encounter, which saw Athletic climb to second place in their group, level on points with Lazio but trailing on goal difference.

The game saw goals from Adama Boiro, Beñat Prados, and Gorka Guruzeta, with Nico Williams playing a pivotal role. The 21-year-old winger provided an assist for Prados’ goal in the 24th minute, showcasing his creativity and precision. Nico impressed throughout the match before being substituted in the 63rd minute.

Iñaki Williams, the elder of the duo, also contributed significantly during his 56 minutes on the pitch, before being replaced by Álex Berenguer.

The victory solidifies Athletic Club’s position as a strong contender in the Europa League, with the Williams brothers playing an instrumental part in their European campaign. Their teamwork and individual brilliance continue to underline their importance to the Basque outfit as the tournament progresses.
