On Thursday, around 120 Italian supporters were arrested by the police in central Warsaw ahead of the Legia Warsaw-Lazio Rome Europa League match. The supporters, en route to the stadium, became aggressive and threw stones and bottles at the police. Some were wearing balaclavas, prompting the police to intervene. The supporters were surrounded by riot police, handcuffed one by one, and immobilized on the ground. This incident followed the arrest of 17 Lazio supporters the previous evening after a brawl outside a Warsaw hotel. Lazio has faced disciplinary actions this season, including the closure of its ultras’ stand, due to racism and territorial discrimination. Lazio is currently in second place in Group J of the Europa League, and a victory against Legia Warsaw would qualify them for the round of 16.
