Moroccan striker Youssef En Nesyri scored for Fenerbahce on Thursday night, helping the Turkish side to a 2-2 draw against Midtjylland in the Europa League.
The forward played a pivotal role in the match, starting for Fenerbahce and being substituted in the final moments of the second half.
The game saw an early breakthrough in the 27th minute when Ousmane Diao of Midtjylland scored from close range after receiving a precise long pass from Aral Simsir, putting the hosts 1-0 ahead.
However, Fenerbahce responded just before halftime in the 39th minute, when Edin Dzeko found En Nesyri in the box. The striker spotted goalkeeper Jonas Lossl off his line and expertly chipped the ball into the net, levelling the score at 1-1 with a cheeky lob.
In the second half, Fenerbahce took the lead in the 47th minute through Edin Dzeko, who finished a precise lofted cross from Sebastian Szymański with a quick shot into the bottom left corner, making it 2-1.
Midtjylland fought back late in the 86th minute when Valdemar Byskov found space in the box and fired a deflected shot past Fenerbahce goalkeeper Irfan Egribayat to make it 2-2.
Despite the draw, Youssef En Nesyri and his Fenerbahce teammates remain in contention in the Europa League. They will compete in the playoff round for a chance to progress to the Round of 16.
