EUROPA LEAGUE: MORE ROOM FOR NATIONAL CUP FINALISTS

From the 2015-2016 season, UEFA has decided that the losing finalist of national cups will no longer directly access the Europa League. Instead, if the winner of the cup qualifies for the Champions League, the Europa League spot will go to the club best classified in the Championship behind those qualified for Europe. This change is yet to be fully approved, pending necessary regulatory changes by UEFA’s Interclub Competitions Commission.
