Belgium-born attacker of Guinean descent, Malick Fofana, will be fit in time for Olympique Lyon’s clash against Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-final next week.
This is according to his manager, Paulo Fonseca.
Malick Fofana, 20 has been out of action due to a knee injury since March. Following his injury, the youngster has missed three matches for Les Gones including the first leg meeting with Manchester United last Thursday.
Speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of Lyon’s match against AJ Auxerre on Sunday, manager Paulo Fonseca disclosed that Fofana is expected to be fit in time for the trip to England.
“No, I think Malick will be for Manchester United. He hasn’t started working with us yet. Everyone else is ready. Malick Fofana isn’t training with the squad yet. He should be back with us next week,” Paulo Fonseca said.
Malick Fofana’s return from injury will be a major squad boost for Lyon, especially after recently losing talented winger Ernest Nuamah to injury.
The second leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie between Manchester United and Olympique Lyon will be played on Thursday, April 17.
