Europa League: Cedric Bakambu on target for Real Betis in 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest

Congolese forward Cedric Bakambu was on target for Real Betis on Wednesday night, helping the team to draw 2-2 against Nottingham Forest in the Europa League.

In the game played at Estadio de La Cartuja, Bakambu opened the scoring in the 15th minute after latching onto a clever pass from Antony. The experienced forward showed great composure inside the box, rifling the ball into the top right corner to give Betis an early lead.

Nottingham Forest, however, responded almost immediately. Three minutes later, Morgan Gibbs-White set up Igor Jesus, who slotted home from close range to restore parity.

The Brazilian forward struck again in the 23rd minute, this time with a towering header from a Douglas Luiz corner, putting the visitors ahead 2-1.

Real Betis pressed for an equaliser and were finally rewarded in the closing stages. In the 85th minute, Marc Roca found Antony inside the area, and the winger calmly finished into the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

Following Bakambu’s first goal in the Europa League today, he will be eager to score more in upcoming games.
