While the draw for the Euro 2016 qualifiers took place recently, Didier Deschamps, the manager of the French national team, emphasized that his current focus remains on preparing for the 2014 World Cup. Deschamps reiterated that their upcoming match against the Netherlands on March 5th is his priority.
However, Deschamps did acknowledge the teams in France’s Euro 2016 qualification group, Group I. He noted that while France’s qualification will be secured as the hosting nation, they will still face Portugal, Denmark, Serbia, Armenia, and Albania. Deschamps highlighted the significance of facing Portugal, Denmark, and Serbia as prestigious matchups, while acknowledging the additional travel involved for matches against Armenia and Albania.
Deschamps also mentioned that the schedule for these friendly matches will be determined soon, indicating that France will approach these matches with the same level of preparation and professionalism despite their guaranteed qualification status.
