Karl Etta Eyong says scoring for Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations has been one of the proudest moments of his career, as he reflected on a dream start to the tournament with the Indomitable Lions. The forward, who found the net in Cameroon’s opening match, spoke of the deep honour of representing the Green, Red and Yellow on the continent’s biggest stage.
“For me, wearing these colours is a source of immense pride,” Eyong said. He was quick to deflect individual praise, insisting his first AFCON goal was the result of collective effort rather than personal brilliance. “It was only possible thanks to everyone’s work, the constant support, the trust we share and our desire to move forward together,” he added.
Eyong also paid tribute to the coaching staff and his team-mates, thanking them for their confidence and unity.
His message carried a note of humility and resolve as Cameroon look ahead to the challenges of the tournament. “Together, let us continue to fight match after match,” he said, “always for these colours, always for the people.”
