Etta Eyong not giving up on dream to play for Barcelona
Cameroonian forward Karl Etta Eyong is reportedly determined to keep alive his long-standing dream of signing for Barcelona.
The 22-year-old Levante striker has been a Barcelona supporter since childhood and continues to view a move to the Catalan giants as his ultimate career goal.
Despite interest from elsewhere, Eyong is said to be holding out for a potential opportunity at Camp Nou.
Bright Start to Season Followed by Dip in Form
Eyong made an impressive start to the league campaign, scoring six goals in his first ten appearances and quickly establishing himself as one of Levante’s most promising attacking talents.
However, his form declined in the second half of the season, with the striker managing just one goal in his later appearances.
The drop in productivity has not changed his long-term ambitions, with reports suggesting he remains focused on a potential step up to a bigger club.
CSKA Moscow Offer Rejected
Despite his dip in form, Eyong reportedly turned down a lucrative contract offer from CSKA Moscow, worth around six million euros.
The decision highlights his willingness to prioritise sporting ambition over immediate financial gain as he continues to pursue a move to Barcelona.
Barcelona Dream Still Alive
Eyong is said to be waiting specifically for Barcelona, especially following the expected departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski in the upcoming transfer window.
The young forward is reportedly open to playing a supporting role under Hansi Flick as he aims to follow in the footsteps of his idol Samuel Eto’o.
As things stand, his future remains uncertain, but his ambition to wear the Barcelona shirt remains clear.
