Etoile Sportive de Tunis has decided to terminate the contract of young Cameroonian striker, Rostand Junior Mbai. The leadership of the Tunisian club expressed dissatisfaction with the 18-year-old’s contribution to the team.
Mbai, formerly of Union Sportive de Douala, had signed a 5-year contract with Etoile Sportive de Tunis last July. Despite considerable potential and previous praise from talent scouts, Mbai’s performance fell short of expectations. This decision comes despite the club’s initial optimism about Mbai’s potential, which had prompted them to keep him in their plans since his arrival in January, despite undergoing surgery for cruciate ligament damage along with a meniscus section.
