This win elevates Étoile du Sahel to 43 points, now just two points behind league leaders Espérance de Tunis, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to CA Bizertin earlier in the day.
Njem Matloui remain in eighth place with 28 points.

Striker Firas Chaouat opened the scoring in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to put Étoile ahead.
Oussama Abid extended the lead in the 41st minute with a well-placed shot from the edge of the penalty area.
In the second half, Njem Matloui intensified their efforts and managed to reduce the deficit in the 69th minute through Ahmed Behi, who found the net after a swift counter-attack.
Despite being reduced to ten men following the late sending-off of Mohamed Hussein, Étoile du Sahel held firm to secure the victory.
This result tightens the race at the top of the table, with Étoile du Sahel closing in on Espérance de Tunis.
