Etoile du Sahel ask Tunisian FA to award them three points over Belaïli complaint

Etoile du Sahel have lodged an official complaint with the Tunisian Football Federation over the eligibility of Youcef Belaïli in their 3-2 defeat by Espérance de Tunis.

The club claims Belaïli was still registered as an MC Alger player at the time of the match, a position reportedly maintained by the Algerian club.

Etoile du Sahel are therefore asking the Tunisian FA to overturn the result and award them the three points.

Belaïli featured for 65 minutes in the match but missed a penalty in the 25th minute as Espérance secured a narrow victory.

The Algeria international’s registration status is now at the centre of the dispute, with the matter having been formally referred to the Tunisian Football Federation.

The federation is expected to examine the relevant registration documents before deciding whether any disciplinary action or change to the result is warranted.

For now, Espérance remain the winners on the pitch, while Etoile du Sahel await a ruling on their complaint.
