Ethan Nwaneri is stepping into the spotlight with quiet confidence and big ambition.
Following Arsenal’s 1–0 pre-season victory over AC Milan, the 18-year-old midfielder reflected on the team’s energy and focus as they gear up for the 2025/26 campaign. Nwaneri, who impressed with his movement and drive, came close to scoring in the first half with a sharp effort that was saved at full stretch.
“We’re ready to keep pushing and training and working hard,” Nwaneri said after the match, a clear sign of the hunger running through the squad.
Played in demanding conditions, the match tested Arsenal’s depth and resolve. Bukayo Saka netted the winner after an assist from Jakub Kiwior, while new arrivals Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, and Kepa Arrizabalaga made their debuts.
Academy talent was also on display, with 15-year-old Max Dowman sharing the midfield with Nwaneri. The youngster praised the chemistry within the group and the lift from the summer signings.
“All the signings we’ve made have been brilliant and sharpening the team and making us even stronger,” he said.
