Ethan Ampadu commits future to Leeds until 2030

Leeds United have secured a major boost as defender Ethan Ampadu signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at Elland Road until summer 2030.

The 25-year-old Welsh international put pen to paper on a fresh four-year deal, cementing his status as a cornerstone of Daniel Farke’s Premier League squad.

Since arriving from Chelsea ahead of the 2023/24 season, Ampadu has become indispensable. He played every league match in his debut campaign, earning Player of the Year honors, and was later appointed captain. His leadership guided the Whites to a dominant 100-point Championship title victory, securing promotion back to the top flight.

Last season, Ampadu made 35 appearances and collected both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards, showcasing consistent excellence. Across 126 total appearances and three goals for Leeds, he remains captain of Wales simultaneously.

The club stated they are “thrilled” to secure his future, emphasizing his leadership and consistency since joining. This deal ends speculation about his departure and signals Leeds’ ambition to strengthen their Premier League standing with homegrown talent at the heart of their defense.
