Esperance issue strict fan warning ahead of Al Ahly showdown in CAF Champions League

The Hammadi Agrebi Olympic Stadium in Rades is bracing for a fierce night of African football on Sunday as Esperance host Al Ahly in the first leg of the 2025–26 CAF Champions League quarterfinals.

Esperance released a firm message to their supporters via their official Facebook page, urging them to avoid lighting flares, throwing objects or using laser pointers during the match. The club stressed that any misconduct could lead to harsh sanctions from CAF, potentially damaging their chances in the competition and harming the club’s reputation.

On the pitch, the tie promises to be finely balanced. Al Ahly reached the quarterfinals by topping Group B with 10 points, one ahead of Morocco’s AS FAR, while Esperance qualified as runners-up in their group with 9 points behind Stade Malien.
