José Anigo Denies Contact with Espérance de Tunis
Former Olympique de Marseille coach José Anigo has denied rumors linking him with a move to Espérance de Tunis. Speaking to the Senegalese media outlet Stades, Anigo firmly dismissed reports from Tunisian media claiming he had been approached to replace current coach José De Morais.
“I don’t know where people got this information, but it is completely wrong and false,” said Anigo.
Now working as a scout for OM in Africa, Anigo recently announced his candidacy for the Ivory Coast national team job, indicating that his priority lies with the Elephants at the moment.
However, sources close to the Frenchman revealed to Stades that he remains open to the idea of joining the Tunisian giants in the future:
“Espérance de Tunis is a big club on the continent. All coaches dream of working there. For now, nothing has been decided yet. José is giving priority to the Ivory Coast,” said a member of his entourage.
Anigo’s name continues to circulate in African football circles as a candidate for top-level managerial roles.
