Esperance bring Tunisia striker Hazem Mastouri home in €800,000 Dinamo Makhach move

Tunisia centre-forward Hazem Mastouri has joined Esperance from Russian club Dinamo Makhach for €800,000, completing a move that returns the 29-year-old to his home country.

Mastouri has signed a contract with the Tunisian Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2029. The transfer was completed on 27 August 2026, with the striker leaving Dinamo Makhach after one season in Russia.

The 1.91m forward made two appearances in the Russian Cup during the 2026-27 campaign, starting both matches and playing 87% of the available minutes. He did not score in those games and was booked once.

Mastouri has also featured at the 2026 World Cup, making one appearance and scoring once. That goal accounted for half of his recorded goal participation in the tournament.

He began his senior career with AS Degache before moving to LPS Tozeur in September 2020. A year later, he joined ES Metlaoui, where he spent two seasons before switching to Al-Najaf FC in September 2023.

The striker moved to US Monastir on a free transfer in August 2024 and spent the following season with the club. He then transferred to Dinamo Makhach on 17 August 2025 for €350,000, with his market value recorded at €650,000 at the time.

Mastouri’s latest valuation is €900,000, placing the fee paid by Esperance below that figure. He is a right-footed centre-forward and was born in Tunis on 18 June 1997.

The move marks the latest stage of a career that has taken Mastouri from Tunisian football to Iraq and Russia before his return to the country of his birth. Esperance have now secured his services on a contract running through June 2029.
