Eseosa Sule: Nigeria-Scotland forward joins St Mirren from West Brom U21 on long-term deal

Nigeria-Scotland centre-forward Eseosa Sule has joined St Mirren from West Bromwich Albion’s under-21 side, signing a contract with the Paisley club until 31 May 2029. The 20-year-old moves into the Scottish Premiership after progressing through the youth and development system in England.

Sule, who was born in Glasgow, returns to Scottish football after his earlier spell with Motherwell and will now compete for a place in St Mirren’s attack. The deal sees him arrive from West Brom’s under-21 squad, where he has spent the past two-and-a-half years.

The striker built his reputation in Premier League 2, making 40 appearances and scoring 14 goals, while also contributing two assists. He added nine goals in 24 outings in the under-18 Premier League earlier in his development, underlining his scoring record across youth and development levels.

Sule’s route to St Mirren began at Celtic’s under-18s, from where he moved to West Brom’s under-18 side in January 2023. He stepped up to West Brom’s under-21 team in the summer of 2024 and then gained his first taste of senior Scottish football with a loan move to Motherwell in July 2025, which ran until January 2026.

As well as youth and development fixtures, he has had brief exposure to senior competitions, including the Championship, EFL Cup and League Cup, along with appearances in the Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup. Sule’s move to St Mirren is a permanent transfer and commits him to the Premiership club for the next three seasons.
