ES Setif’s struggles in the Algerian Professional League persisted after a frustrating goalless draw against Najm Makra on Wednesday in the 18th round of the competition.
Both sides failed to capitalize on their chances throughout the 90 minutes, with wasteful finishing defining the encounter. The result leaves Setif with just one win in their last seven league matches, keeping them in seventh place with 25 points, at least temporarily, until the round’s remaining fixtures are played.
Setif supporters had high hopes for back-to-back victories following their narrow 1-0 triumph over Belouizdad in the previous match. However, their team failed to build on that momentum, adding to their recent inconsistency.
Meanwhile, Najm Makra’s winless run extended to seven games, though they managed to add another point to their tally. They now sit in 14th place, hovering just above the relegation zone with 17 points.
Najm Makra will play ES Mostaganem in their next league game on March 7th.
