ES Sétif Clinch 7th Algerian Ligue 1 Title with a Game to Spare
ES Sétif have reclaimed their place at the summit of Algerian football. With a 2-0 victory over CS Constantine on the 29th and penultimate matchday of the 2014-15 season, the Black Eagles sealed their 7th Algerian championship title, making it a historic treble after already lifting the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup.
Head coach Kheireddine Madoui praised his players for their composure and resilience during this decisive fixture.
“My players were under enormous pressure, but they handled it perfectly. They made the difference in the first half and then managed the game calmly. This win, ahead of the final round, gives us time to rest and prepare for the African Champions League.”
Madoui was full of praise for his squad:
“They sacrificed a lot, and their efforts have been rewarded. This is an exceptional season—winning a treble is historic and fabulous. I’m confident more titles will follow in the coming years.”
ES Sétif, who lost the title to USM Alger last season, have bounced back in stunning fashion, reaffirming their dominance both domestically and continentally.
