Eric Tie Bi Joins Greek Side Asteras Tripolis After Leaving Evian
Eric Tie Bi, the Ivorian midfielder previously linked with Valenciennes, has chosen to continue his career outside France by signing for Greek club Asteras Tripolis.
After the expiry of his contract with Evian-Thonon-Gaillard, where he played since 2010, Tie Bi has committed to a three-year deal with the Super League Greece side, the club announced on Friday.
The move offers Tie Bi a chance to compete in European competition, with Asteras Tripolis having recently caused an upset by eliminating German Bundesliga team Mainz in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. The Greek club will now face Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv in the play-offs.
At just 24 years old, Tie Bi brings valuable Ligue 1 experience from his four seasons at Evian, where he made 64 appearances. Known for his tireless work rate and midfield tenacity, the Ivorian will be aiming to take the next step in his career by becoming a key starter for his new team.
