Guinea Arrives in Equatorial Guinea Ahead of 2015 AFCON
The Syli National has officially touched down in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, ahead of the start of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Guinean squad, led by coach Michel Dussuyer, arrived on Friday from Casablanca, Morocco, where they had been holding their pre-tournament training camp.
In line with protocol for all participating teams, the Guinean delegation underwent Ebola screening upon arrival. The team will be based at the Sofitel Sipopo hotel during the group stage.
Guinea has been drawn into Group D, considered one of the most competitive, alongside Cameroon, Mali, and Ivory Coast. The team will kick off its campaign on January 20 with a crucial clash against the Ivory Coast in Malabo.
