Equatorial Guinea head coach Juan Micha in an interview on the TVGE program A Fondo, staunchly defended his report, asserting that the football federation (FEGUIFUT), suspended Emilio Nsue and Iván Salvador based on its findings.
Micha clarified that while the national coach did not acknowledge Nsue’s indiscipline in the report, there was recognition of Salvador’s transgressions.
However, Micha questioned the decision to suspend Salvador, stating, “Sometimes when one tells the truth, it is said that he is undisciplined.”
Expressing surprise at the reported suspensions, Micha emphasized his awareness of an incident involving Salvador but remained uncertain about Nsue’s situation.
He remarked, “I am surprised that it is said that as a result of my report, the players have been suspended. If the federation suspends him [Ivan Salvador], it can be admitted, but the issue of Emilio, I don’t know, I don’t know what happened.”
Regarding Nsue’s alleged indiscipline at the airport, Micha insisted on relying solely on his report for validation, emphasizing the need for detailed reasons when labelling a player as undisciplined.
Micha concluded, “When it is said that one is undisciplined, the reasons must be detailed. If Emilio commits indiscipline, it must be said that he has incurred in such and such an aspect. But one must also understand that when one speaks the truth, it is said that one is undisciplined.”
Nsue won the Golden Boot award at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing the tournament as top scorer with 5 goals in 4 appearances.
