EPL: Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo nets seventh league goal as Bournemouth draw 4-4 with Manchester United
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo scored his seventh goal of the 2025/26 English Premier League season on Monday night, while in action for AFC Bournemouth in their 4-4 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford
The forward, starting in Bournemouth’s attack, ended his eight-game goal drought in style with a clinical finish in the first half.
On the matchday, Manchester United took the lead in the 13th minute when Amad Diallo capitalised on a well-timed pass, slotting a close-range header into an empty net to make it 1-0.
Bournemouth responded before halftime through Antoine Semenyo, whose exceptional individual effort inside the penalty area saw him place the ball into the bottom left corner, levelling the score at 1-1.
The Red Devils regained the lead moments later when Casemiro connected with a Bruno Fernandes corner, heading the ball into the right post for a 2-1 advantage.
However, Bournemouth refused to be subdued. Early in the second half, Marcus Tavernier’s clever pass found Evanilson, who calmly finished into the bottom right corner to make it 2-2.
Bournemouth then made it 3-2 in the 52nd minute when Tavernier unleashed a stunning low drive from a free kick just outside the box, sending the ball inside the left post.
That goal appeared enough to propel the visitors to victory, but Manchester United had other ideas. In a dramatic turn of events, the hosts scored in quick succession in the 77th and 79th minutes through Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha to lead 4-3.
Bournemouth, refusing to leave Old Trafford empty-handed, pushed after going behind and were rewarded in the 84th minute when French-Ivorian forward Eli Junior Kroupi found the back of the net with an assist from Alejandro Jimenez.
