Enzo Grothe: Central African Republic winger joins J. Villenavaise on free transfer
J. Villenavaise have signed Central African Republic and French right winger Enzo Grothe on a free transfer from Lege Cap-Ferret. The 21-year-old attacker completes a permanent move after one season with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine side.
Grothe, born in Cenon in March 2005, joins J. Villenavaise after gaining experience across Frances lower divisions and youth competitions. Primarily operating on the right flank, he has already accumulated senior minutes in National 2 as well as two brief outings in Ligue 2 earlier in his career.
Before his spell at Lege Cap-Ferret, Grothe spent the 2024-25 season with SM Caen B, whom he also joined as a free agent. His development was shaped initially at Bordeaux, progressing from Bordeaux U19 into the clubs B team in 2023.
Across youth and reserve competitions, Grothe has clocked up more than 60 appearances, including a productive campaign at U19 level in which he scored six goals in the National U19 Group C and featured in the Coupe Gambardella. In National 2 he has added further experience with appearances and goals spread across several regional groups.
Grothes arrival gives J. Villenavaise an additional option in attack as he links up with his new team following confirmation of his switch from Lege Cap-Ferret on a free transfer.
