Nigerian club Enyimba suffered a 2-0 defeat to Egypt’s Al Masry in their opening match of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Al Masry seized the initiative early, with Mahmoud Hamada scoring in the sixth minute.
Enyimba tried to mount a response but struggled to break through Al Masry’s solid defense.
Hamada doubled the Egyptian side’s lead in the second half, sealing the win.
Enyimba will face Zamalek next on home soil as they aim to secure their first points in the tournament.
