ENPPI edges Zed while Pharco holds Wadi Degla in tight Egyptian Premier League encounters
The curtain came down on the 10th round of the Egyptian Premier League with two tense matches on Sunday.
ENPPI secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Zed FC at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo, thanks to an early goal from Mody Nasser in the 11th minute.
Coach Hamza El-Gamal was quick to praise his team’s discipline and resilience, noting, “The win was exactly what we needed to move up the table before the international break.”
ZED fought hard for an equalizer, introducing fresh attacking options but ultimately couldn’t break through, even after being awarded—and then losing, a late penalty after VAR review. The result pushed INP up to fifth place, while ZED held steady at eleventh.
In Alexandria, Pharco and Wadi Degla played to a goalless draw in a match marked by Wadi Degla’s dominant possession but limited attacking edge. Pharco’s manager Ahmed Khattab will be relieved to claim a point as his team sits 19th and still seeks their first win of the season.
The round featured several coaching changes and a few upsets elsewhere in the league as the international break approaches and clubs look ahead to key fixtures.
