Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has moved decisively to calm speculation surrounding Cole Palmer, praising the England international’s attitude and professionalism while firmly rejecting suggestions of an imminent move to Manchester United.
At a time when transfer rumours have gathered momentum, Rosenior chose to focus on what he described as Palmer’s exemplary conduct and continued commitment to the club.
Speaking before Chelsea’s Champions League trip to Napoli, Rosenior dismissed talk of a possible exit as unrealistic, insisting the forward remains settled and motivated in west London.
He stressed that Palmer’s focus has not wavered despite the external noise, describing a player fully invested in Chelsea’s ambitions.
According to the manager, Palmer is happy at the club, enjoys the environment and remains determined to play a central role in the team’s progress this season.
Rosenior’s comments were reinforced by Palmer’s response on a significant European night.
Although the 23-year-old began the 3-2 victory over Napoli on the bench, the decision was framed as a matter of careful workload management rather than any shift in status.
The Chelsea boss explained that the demanding schedule of recent weeks required a measured approach, and Palmer’s reaction to that decision further impressed the coaching staff.
“The way that he’s managed himself in the last two weeks has been magnificent,” Rosenior said. “Hopefully we can now see the best of him now that he’s fully fit.
“We need to see him absolutely relish nights like this on a big occasion. He’s a world-class player. There’s been a lot of talk about Cole – he was a very, very happy man in the changing room after the game.”
Introduced from the bench in Naples, Palmer played his part as Chelsea closed out the result and secured a top eight finish in the Champions League league phase.
