Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe will appear in court on 6 March after being arrested at Luton Airport on suspicion of assault causing bodily harm.
The 30-year-old, who currently plays for Lokomotiv Sofia, was detained by police shortly after landing in England while transiting through the airport.
According to reports cited by Complete Sports, officers approached Jordon Ibe immediately after he disembarked and took him in for questioning over an incident dating back to late 2025.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the nature of the allegation, stating the player has been charged with “assault causing bodily harm.”
The charge relates to a specific event said to have taken place on 14 December 2025.
After appearing before magistrates, Ibe was released on bail.
However, the case remains ongoing and he is required to attend Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 6 March.
The arrest represents an abrupt development for the former England youth international, whose career has taken him across several countries in recent years.
His most prominent spell came with Liverpool FC between 2013 and 2016, where he made 41 appearances and scored once.
Since leaving Anfield, the winger has continued his professional career outside England, most recently in Bulgaria.
The current legal proceedings now place his immediate future under scrutiny while the judicial process unfolds.
No further details about the alleged incident have been publicly released. The matter will be determined in court when proceedings resume in March.
