England midfielder of Nigerian descent, Carney Chukwuemeka, has his mind set on returning to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Despite interest from the German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, the youngster prefers joining the Yellow and Black outfit.
The 21-year-old impressed during his loan spell in the second half of last season, doing enough to convince Dortmund of his potential value to the squad. However, the German giants are only interested in a renewed loan deal from Chelsea due to ongoing concerns over the player’s injury history.
While RB Leipzig have now joined the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder, The Telegraph reports that Chukwuemeka remains focused on reuniting with Dortmund and continuing his development under head coach Niko Kovac.
During his stint with the Black and Yellows, Chukwuemeka featured in 17 competitive matches and scored one goal.
His preference for Dortmund could shape the final stages of his transfer decision as the summer window heats up.
