English-Ivorian star Marc Guehi on Bayern radar after agents meet Eberl in Munich

Agents representing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi have reportedly met Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl as the German giants step up their interest in the England international.

The meeting, held in Munich this week, signals Bayern’s intention to move early for Guehi, who is expected to leave Palace when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Guehi moved to London at a young age and has since established himself as one of England’s most reliable central defenders.

His Ivorian roots remain a key part of his identity, even as he has flourished in the Premier League and become a regular fixture in Gareth Southgate’s England setup.

According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, Eberl met with Guehi’s representative, Gordon Stipic, in recent days to discuss a potential transfer.

“In recent days, there has been a meeting in Munich between Max Eberl and Gordon Stipic, the top agent of Marc Guehi,” Plettenberg reported.

“FC Bayern are fully involved in the race, as Guehi is set to leave Crystal Palace on a free transfer. Real Madrid and Liverpool are also in the race.”

Guehi, 25, has drawn consistent praise for his composure, positional awareness, and leadership at the back.

His performances have not gone unnoticed across Europe, with Liverpool previously attempting to sign him on deadline day before Palace blocked the move.

Bayern’s growing interest comes as the club faces uncertainty over the futures of defenders Dayot Upamecano and Min-jae Kim.

Plettenberg adds that Guehi, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck, is among Eberl’s preferred targets should either player leave.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner recently confirmed that Guehi is unlikely to extend his stay beyond the summer, paving the way for one of Europe’s most sought-after free transfers.
