English-Ivorian defender Marc Guehi seeking for improved contract terms with Liverpool

England international of Ivory Coast descent Marc Guehi has nullified his agreement with Premier League giants Liverpool as he seeks for an improved contract terms.

Guehi, who is the captain of Crystal Palace came close to joining Liverpool on summer transfer deadline day, but the deal fell through. The rock-solid defender is expected to be at a transfer bidding war next summer, with his current contract expiring in June 2026.

However, the 25-year-old centre-back has informed Liverpool’s management about the termination of previous agreement with the club, while seeking for a better contract term for a switch.

Meanwhile, Guehi’s agent has begun new contract talks with the Premier League giants over a possible move in the summer.

Aside Liverpool, the Crystal Palace captain is also attracting interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich. While Liverpool had been considered the frontrunners due to their summer agreement, the situation has now changed dramatically.

Guehi joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea for €24 million in 2021. Over the years, he has become a true leader for Palace, making over180 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists.

This season, Guehi has made 25 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring two goals and providing four assists. His contract with Palace expires in July 2026.
