Crystal Palace defender Caleb Kporha has extended his stay at the club after signing a new four-year contract as his previous deal was set to expire this summer, per The Athletic.
The 18-year-old, who has Ghanaian heritage, has now committed his future to the Eagles, securing his place in the squad for the foreseeable future.
Kporha joined Palace’s academy at the Under-16 level in 2021 from Welling United. Initially playing as a winger, he transitioned into a more defensive role and has since excelled as a wing-back.
He has also showcased his versatility by playing across the backline for the club’s Under-21 side.
The young defender made his senior debut for Palace in November, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat to Fulham.
His first start came a month later in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Arsenal, where he played the first half before being substituted at the break.
Kporha also featured in the Premier League against Arsenal just three days later and made another appearance in the FA Cup fourth-round victory over Doncaster Rovers, coming on as a substitute in Palace’s 2-0 win.
Despite his rising profile, Kporha’s progress was briefly halted by a serious hamstring injury in April 2023, which kept him out of action for nearly a year.
However, he has since returned to full fitness and remains highly regarded by the club’s coaching staff.
In addition to his club performances, Kporha has represented England at youth level, earning caps for both the Under-17 and Under-19 national teams.
