England forward of Ghanaian descent, Eddie Nketiah, scored twice on Tuesday night, propelling Crystal Palace to come from a goal down to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-2 in the English Premier League.
The striker started the game for the Eagles in the game serving as their Week 37 contest of the league campaign.
On the matchday, Crystal Palace found themselves trailing early in the first half after Wolves’ Emmanuel Agbadou pounced on a rebound in the 24th minute, heading home to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Just three minutes later, Eddie Nketiah levelled the score with a powerful low drive from the edge of the box, assisted by Romain Esse.
The forward struck again in the 32nd minute, this time tapping in from close range after a brilliant setup from Senegalese attacker Ismaila Sarr to make it 2-1.
The Eagles extended their lead shortly after the break. In the 50th minute, Ben Chilwell’s curling free-kick took a wicked deflection off a Wolves defender and looped past the helpless Daniel Bentley to make it 3-1.
Wolves clawed one back in the 62nd minute when Jorgen Strand Larsen rose above the defence to head home from a Jean-Ricner Bellegarde corner. Unfortunately, it could not inspire a comeback.
Substitute Eberechi Eze put the result beyond doubt with a composed finish in the 86th minute, driving a low shot into the bottom corner to seal an emphatic 4-2 win for Crystal Palace.
