England international of Ghanaian descent Kobbie Mainoo is willing to join Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mainoo gained prominence last year after breaking into Manchester United first-team, contributing to the club’s success in the FA Cup last SEASON.
The 19-year-old has less than two years left on his current contract with Manchester United and has yet to sign a new deal despite ongoing talks.
According to reports, Chelsea are closely monitoring Mainoo’s situation and could make a move for the talented midfielder if Manchester United are forced to cash in on the player over financial issues.
Mainoo is reportedly willing to move to Chelsea ahead of the summer window. However, the midfielder will only accept a move if he is offered higher salary than Cole Palmer.
The England international is demanding £180,000 to extend his contract with Man United and is not ready to accept less for Chelsea.
This would mean leapfrogging Palmer, who currently earns £130,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.
