Former England international of Ghanaian descent Danny Welbeck has reached a new milestone at Brighton and Hove Albion following his strike against Crystal Palace.
The former Manchester United attacker registered his name on the scoresheet as his outfit played out a 2-2 draw against the Eagles on Saturday in the Premier League.
Welbeck is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career in terms of scoring in the English Premier League.
Crystal Palace opened the scoring through Jean-Philippe Mateta, just three minutes into the match following an assist from Eberechi Eze.
However, the visitors responded with an equalizer in the 31st-minute mark through English-Ghanaian attacker Danny Welbeck after he was set up by Yankuba Minteh as the first half ended in a stalemate.
The home team showcased determination and resilience in the second half, grabbing the match-winner in the 55th-minute mark through Daniel Munoz after another assist from Eberechi Eze.
The 34-year-old forward made his first start in two months in a Premier League match and fully repaid the coach’s trust with a stunning goal.
With 31 goals, Welbeck became Brighton’s top scorer in the Premier League, surpassing Pascal Groß.
This season, he has scored 9 goals in all competitions and is helping the club fight for a spot in European competitions next season.
