England-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Josh Acheampong, is reportedly on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The La Liga giants are said to have drawn up a shortlist featuring eight highly rated English prospects as they aim to replicate the success of Jude Bellingham’s move to the Santiago Bernabéu in 2023.

Bellingham joined Madrid for €113 million after an outstanding spell with Borussia Dortmund and has since become a central figure for Los Blancos.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Madrid are now closely monitoring two young talents from Chelsea F.C., with Acheampong and Jesse Derry both under observation.

Acheampong has been on the radar of several leading European clubs in recent seasons, particularly due to limited first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge. With uncertainty surrounding his long-term role at Chelsea, speculation over a potential summer move continues to gather momentum.

Should interest from Real Madrid materialise into a formal approach, the young defender could be set for a significant step forward in his career, following in the footsteps of Bellingham as another English talent making the switch to Spain.
