England-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Jarell Quansah, has completed his anticipated move to German club Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bundesliga outfit announced the acquisition of the centre-back through an official statement on Wednesday, July 2.

The young defender has signed for Bayer Leverkusen in a move from English Premier League champions Liverpool.

“Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed the England U21 international and European champion Jarell Quansah. The central defender joins Leverkusen from Premier League champions Liverpool on a contract to 30 June 2030,” Liverpool announced in their statement.

Speaking on the new signing, Bayer Leverkusen managing director sport Simon Rolfes said, “We are very happy to be been able to sign Jarell Quansah, one of the most promising English central defenders.”

Jarell Quansah was at the U21 Euros in Slovakia, and he was in the England line-up for the 3-2 win after extra time in the final against Germany.

The centre-back was one of the most impressive defenders at the tournament, was a regular starter and key performer in his team, and he also stood out with his ability to get up the pitch and create moves.
