England legend Gary Lineker has delivered a heartfelt tribute to Mohamed Salah, praising his remarkable impact on English football following confirmation of his departure from Liverpool FC.

Salah recently announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, bringing an end to a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield. During that period, the Egyptian forward established himself as one of the most influential players in the modern era of the Premier League.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, Salah said, “Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first step towards saying goodbye. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.”

Reacting to the news via the “The Rest is Football” account on X, Lineker shared a video message reflecting on Salah’s legacy.

“We received the news of Mohamed Salah’s departure at the end of the season. Nine years with Liverpool, what amazing years, he was a true phenomenon.”

He continued, “An incredibly talented player. He won the league title twice, the Champions League, the League Cup twice, the FA Cup, the European Super Cup, and also the Club World Cup.”

Lineker also highlighted Salah’s consistency and goal-scoring brilliance over the years.
