England thrash Croatia 7-0 as Bellingham inspires emphatic Nations League win

England produced a ruthless performance to beat Croatia 7-0 away from home on Saturday and claim their second victory of the Nations League campaign.

Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scored twice, while Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers were also on target for the Three Lions.

England needed only eight minutes to take control. Bellingham delivered an excellent pass into the path of Kane, who finished powerfully to put the visitors ahead.

The goal began a miserable evening for Croatia, while England continued to reassert themselves. Bellingham, who had created the opener, soon added a goal of his own.

In the 21st minute, Gordon supplied the ball inside the penalty area and Bellingham followed up to push it into the net and double England’s advantage.

Gordon then added the third, scoring for the third consecutive match for his country. He met a superb cross from Jarell Quansah towards the far post and finished the move.

Croatia missed an opportunity to reduce the deficit shortly before half-time. Mateo Kovacic rounded Jordan Pickford in the 41st minute but was unable to score with the goal completely unguarded.

England instead extended their lead before the interval. Saka completed the first-half scoring in the final minute to make it 4-0.

Kane struck again immediately after the restart, giving England a fifth goal and completing his brace. Saka then followed with his second of the night.

Bellingham remained central to England’s attacking display, contributing one goal and three assists. Gordon was also among the match’s most prominent performers.

Rogers completed the rout in the 87th minute, converting another decisive pass from Bellingham to score England’s seventh goal.

Luka Modric started for Croatia but was taken off in the 56th minute as the hosts endured a heavy defeat.

The result moved England on to six points, while Croatia remained on three.
